about

"Yes, Sir" (Edgar Dowell and Andy Razaf) is a good time courting song about nearly getting killed. It's the first single from June Appal's upcoming release of "Wild and Free," a collection of live performances by Kentucky Wild Horse (JA094D). The album is set to release Friday, June 12 for digital download and on CD.

The band takes its name from an old eastern Kentucky fiddle tune played by Wolfe County fiddler Darley Fulks (1895-1990) who possessed a vast repertoire of pre-Civil War tunes. Kentucky music from the 19th century down to the present, especially its fiddle and banjo traditions, has been the band's love and inspiration.
